My passion for software development can be traced back to 1985 when I obtained my first computer. I was intrigued by how that little box, (a ZX81) could captivate a room of people with its blips and bleeps, and more intrigued as to what made it produce that magic. I had no storage device on that machine, so each and every time I wanted to use it, I had to write software to make it work.
A great many years and ever more lines of code later, I am still hooked on developing software for people and companies large and small, solving problems, and there's nothing quite like seeing users engaged and reaping benefits in their day to day lives from something I've produced.
I've worked in small companies, as a consultant, and I've worked for large corporate entities but today I run my own company (Tucanoo Solutions), founded in 2011, I wanted to bring my years of expertise producing software across many different industries into something I can grow and perhaps involve my children with one day.
At Tucanoo, we are a small team of developers and graphic design artists. We don't typically work on small one-off projects, striving instead to really engage and become deeply involved with whoever we are working for. This way we have forged relationships with our clients that will last as long as their/our projects. We want to be involved to the point we share as much passion and care for your project as much as you do. Needless to say, we have often forged new partnerships with our clients sharing equity and the spoils of success.
Outside of the office, I'm a passionate learner. In this field, one cannot stop learning as technology advanced, be it best practices, alternative approaches to development, or new languages etc.
Residing in Spain, I am also a keen outdoors person, sharing benefits of the outdoor culture and climate with my family.
