Dependable, hardworking, dedicated, and experienced proofreader and copy/line editor. I will always make sure your job is accomplished to your complete satisfaction.
Almost anyone in the editing industry will say that they've always possessed a love of reading and writing, and I'm certainly no different. Sometimes I'll consume 3-4 books a week and, let me tell you, I could write a mean essay on any subject you gave me in college. I graduated from Arcadia University with a BA in art and pre-art therapy, which was a wonderfully intriguing combination of art and psychology classes.
For a few years, I made a career as a jewelry artist and sold my work at art festivals across the country, but that was unsteady, exhausting, and downright impossible once COVID hit and everything shut down. So I decided to change professions in the middle of a pandemic (crazy, I know) and got certified in proofreading and copy editing through Edit Republic. I still love creating, but it's nice to relegate that back to a hobby and concentrate on something new and exciting. I've now launched my new business and have been eagerly taking on new clients.
In the past, I've worked on a wide range of projects including fiction and nonfiction books, resumes, cover letters, weekly blog posts, articles, and essays. I'm happy to apply my skills to any type of writing.
Currently, I'm the in-house editor for a small publishing company, Southeastern Professional Books. This is a US-based, independent publishing company that provides services for authors, educators, and therapists who are looking to share their professional knowledge with the world.
I'm also an in-network editor for the 8 Weeks to Authorship Program through Norwood Literary Enterprises. This is an excellent program that walks authors through the writing, editing, and marketing aspects of self-publishing so they can publish a book in just 8 weeks. When I'm between jobs for those companies I like to pick up freelance projects on the side.
Work Terms
I'm available to work on your project for a full 40 hours a week and I will do overtime for rush jobs for an added fee.
