Close to people, result-drive, trustworthy
Jack van der Vlis is a senior HR professional and economist, specialized in employee wellbeing, motivation, and engagement. He has worked across several industries, for diverse universities in the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, and Greece and for refugee NGOs. In the High-Performance Organizations he worked for, he has initiated and led programs on cultural change, leadership, and the creation of a healthy working place, all of them based on data-driven knowledge, HR models and a thorough understanding of change mechanisms. Jack joined forces with Valia Kalaitzi and the Competence Center for Diversity and Inclusion of the St. Gallen University of Switzerland on the development of the D&I barriers index and tailor-made interventions toolbox. As an HR expert he was struck by its completeness and data-drivenness. The topic of Diversity and Inclusion is in his heart since he has seen the needs of people to be an integral part of a society or an organization and the positive impact of inclusive culture at all levels and for all involved parties. Jack combines living in Athens, Greece, with living in Maastricht, the Netherlands. He can be reached via mail: jack@idi-nav.ch. His moto is ‘The basis of HR is a thorough understanding of what is going on in the organization, from top to bottom. Especially as a strategist you should talk to the people on the work floor, so to see what the effect of your work is and get necessary feedback to improve. That way people’s development and performance of the organization can go hand in hand.’
