Hi everyone! My name is JAY-AR ALLAN MAGTIRA, but I seldom use the name “Jay-Ar.” Add to that many people have difficulty remembering the names of people to whom they have been introduced to or has tendencies of associating names to various terms like in my case “Junior”. When I meet someone new, I always say, “Hi, I’m Jay“, and that’s without “-Ar“.

Currently, I’m taking up Master’s degree in Development Communication at the University of the Philippines – Open University. I finished my undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the School of Education Arts and Sciences at Manuel L. Quezon University. During my academic years I also took up major subjects in Journalism such as Feature Writing, Investigative Reporting and Writing, Photojournalism, Broadcast Journalism, Advertising and Journalism Ethics.

Previously, I was an Operations Supervisor and an Agile Product Owner at DTCC handling Global Trade Repository and Trade Information Warehouse. Prior to joining DTCC, I was a Team Lead at JP Morgan & Chase Co., from 2016 to 2017. Then from 2009 to 2016, I worked at Thomson Reuters as a Senior Analyst. I started my career at E*Trade Financial Information Services in 2007.
