My professional work thus far has been that of a Data Scientist/Engineer for Booz Allen Hamilton. Primarily, I've focused on the design and development of solutions to niche, and specifically data-centric, client challenges.
The projects I enjoy the most are the ones that allow me to work with data from end to end. Each aspect of a dataset's lifecycle--from collection, to cleaning, to analysis, to storage, to visualization, is interesting to me. Consequently, I've dabbled (and with some tools, more than dabbled) with a bit of everything--from BASH scripts, to Pandas and Numpy, to MongoDB design, to JavaScript functionality.
I gain much satisfaction from building optimized data processes, extracting value from the data being processed, and then integrating everything into a solution easily digested and navigated by users. Researching, then architecting a final, custom data pipeline, or discovering an odd connection in disparate data, is enormously fun for me.
While Python is one of my favorite tools to use, I strongly believe that every project requires a unique set of tools, and that significant thought and research should go into deciding those. As such, I've worked with various languages and open source software, and actually enjoy the opportunity to learn and work with unfamiliar technology.
Work Terms
Very flexible in terms of work hours/times. Email is always the best way to get in touch; I often don't keep my phone on me while working.
