Helping Writers – or Subject Matter Experts who want to BECOME Writers – get their message out into the world with STYLE!
With over 25 years experience as a freelance writer and editor, I bring a passion for the written word to each project I work on. Whether writing sales copy or editing a novel, re-writing a training manual or fixing a resume, I bring the same attention to detail and quest for perfection to each. I'm a trained proofreader, an apprenticed typographer, and an English major - and well-experienced in writing for academic, private sector, corporate, and government clients. These are strengths that I will bring to your work.
As a retired government analyst, I bring personal experience to writing proposals, reports, reviews, and correspondence. I'm comfortable working with limited information and under the urgency of time constraints.
On my website you will find several testimonials from other clients I have worked with, as well as a link to approximately 45 blog articles I've written on a variety of social interest topics. This will give you a sense of my own writing style. Additionally, I'm sensitive to capturing the corporate voice of my client, to ensure continuity between their written and spoken messaging.
Custom samples of up to 250 words cheerfully offered, upon request.
Work Terms
I prefer to be initially contacted by e-mail, after which telephone consultations, or perhaps Skype, may be used to discuss more specific details efficiently. Otherwise, e-mail works perfectly well.
After each consultation, a follow-up e-mail will confirm decisions made, directions, and agreements going forward.
Large projects will require a written agreement, which I will provide. I use the Editorial Freelancers Association template for this.
