I've come to build your creative work and then chop it down to size.

I was born and raised in Texas, lived in Germany, had a plethora of jobs before spending five years in the Navy. I followed this immediately with an intense academic career culminating in my Masters in Fine Arts with a concentration in creative writing.
My own work is often reflective of a socio-political interest, however, I am capable of offering creative insight into most topics. My editing will involve both first read reactions, a cumulative reaction response, line-editing suggestions, and questions to help guide you. We can then discuss your ideas (phone or video chat consultation) and options on how best to execute them. If your work is further along, I will help you trim and sharpen your language so you will be ready for publication.
Most stories I've worked with in the last four years have ended up performed, published, or contest winners. I have worked with some very talented writers and artists, and hope to help you find your path to success.
I believe voice and creative decisions are made for a reason. I will, however, let you know if they are working in the way you intend them to. (I.e. erasure works, experimental writing, language play, etc.)

Work Terms

I work variable hours based on projects. I recommend emailing me, but if you'd like to talk, afternoons and evenings are best to reach me. Payment will be 50% up front based on quote, and the rest at the completion of my work. Note: some works take less time or more time once I get in to them. I have no problem letting you know if I ended up spending less time on your work so that we can be honest and fair with each other.
