I possess a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka’s premier technical University, as well as an M.Sc. from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)- Sweden & a Master of Energy Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Electrical Installations from the University of Moratuwa. During my postgraduate studies at KTH, Sweden, I was an active member of ENERGIA's Gender and Energy Research Program “Building the Evidence Base for Women’s Empowerment and Entrepreneurship to Improve Energy Interventions’ Effectiveness”, as well as a contributor to SEforALL People-Centred Accelerator to Advance Gender Equality, Social Inclusion and Women’s Empowerment in the Sustainable Energy Sector.
My career as a Professional Engineer is further strengthened by accreditation as an Energy Manager, from the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority and a GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Assessor attached to the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board. Additionally, I am an ASNT Level 2 certified IR Thermographer and a certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute ®. I am also a member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL).
Over the course of my career, I have overseen a vast portfolio, inclusive of the design and installation of electrical installations, implementation of renewable energy projects, environmental sustainability and project management. In my current capacity, I drive initiatives across Renewable Energy, Energy Management, Electrical Engineering and Facility Management for operations in several countries.
A proactive problem-solver, I am capable of meeting challenges to reach viable solutions, using my strategic planning and project management competencies to manage work in an evolving globalized world.
