I am a product designer with over two decades of real world engineering experience.
2014 to Present:
Lead designer at a company that designs and manufactures machinery related to the mining and rock processing industry. I primarily use Autodesk Inventor for 3D design which encompasses the majority of work. I'll also use AutoCAD when needed and am very experienced using this software.
2008 - 2014
During this time, I worked at two companies that design and build flow control products such as knife gate valves and related accessories. At these companies I primarily used AutoCAD, and later integrated Inventor into their work flow.
2001 - 2008
Freelance Designer; I worked numerous contracts for the Air Force updating their maps and converting their old hand-drawn maps to AutoCAD format. I also worked for several years with a structural engineering/fabrication company. Here I created solid models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor. This also included preparing shop drawings and nesting files for CNC machines and plasma table.
1995 - 2001
Design Drafting plastic and sheet metal parts and assemblies at a company that supplies products used in the telecommunications industry. I also developed a new way to design and apply the printed logo and designation artwork to the products.
Previously, i served in the U.S. Army for six years most of which was in Germany and later in Iraq during Desert Storm. After getting out I attended a technical college and acquired a degree in drafting, and later took the mechanical engineering program at a local college.
Work Terms
I'm available all hours of the day, but like to reserve some time for my kids so I try to keep things inside the Monday - Friday time frame.
For most contract work I can do NET30 but prefer weekly payment from online customers. I'm very open to payment terms and am happy to make arrangements that work well with you. Please understand that with large jobs and first time customers it is preferable to pay weekly.
