Nurse Advocate
Tammy L. Johnson MSN, RN, CWCN, is a 30-year veteran registered nurse. She is a board certified wound care nurse and Master’s prepared nurse educator who is available to share her experience and expertise with you.
Tammy has practiced at the bedside, spoken at a multi-state WOCN conference, taught in a large health system nurse residency program, consulted with risk management, staff development, value analysis/purchasing, pharmacy formulary development and medical malpractice attorneys.
Tammy received her specialty training at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, under the direction of the legendary Dorothy B. Doughty, MSN, FNP, CWOCN, FAAN. Her successful design of an evidence-based pressure ulcer prevention program, reduced facility acquired incidence rates from 12% to 1.8%. Tammy’s targeted policy development and staff education resulted in risk avoidance, significant cost savings and improved nurse and patient satisfaction.
Tammy provides education and tools to help make your facility and staff thrive, by teaching which actions get the results that you want. Through workshops and presentations, Tammy is dedicated to helping you reach the next level of success, no matter where you are in the process right now.
Tammy’s philosophy of teaching is crafted through experience and evidence-based research. Best practice presentations are delivered in the advocacy-inquiry style of teaching. This teaching style emphasizes hands-on learning, simple translation to practice, and fun!
Tammy lives in Little Rock with her better half, Stacy. Together, they cheer on a soon-to-be married, college senior, play with two delightful rescued dogs, enjoy the natural beauty of the Arkansas outdoors while exploring many exciting and challenging hobbies.
