Editing, proofreading, and freelance writing for a wide range of needs
I am Shareen Mann, the sole owner of The Write Mann LLC. I am a writer and editor with over 20 years of experience on a variety of projects. I am open to project-based or long-term remote editing and/or writing positions. I am not interested in pairing with AI.
As variety keeps things interesting and fresh, I will write and edit for projects of all sizes, from basic product labels and blog posts to lengthy non-fiction books and procedure/process manuals. I provide quality proofreading and developmental editing for short, novella, and novel-length fiction. I produce accessible and engaging web content and develop superior process instructions (including graphics and videos) for users with a range of technological comfort and education. After 13 years on a medicine residency application committee, I am highly skilled in developmental editing and coaching for higher education personal statements.
Past projects of note
* Copy editing for Wisconsin Adventures, a Wisconsin folklore D&D module - due out 2024
* Developmental feedback and copy editing for Amazon bestseller The COVID Bride by Sara La Chapelle - (pub 2022)
* Business office procedure manual overhaul for a major metropolitan school district (115 topics, 133 web pages)
* Purchasing card training development (video lessons, tests, curriculum management system)
* Business office website overhaul for a major metropolitan school district (multiple departments, collaboration)
I am organized and able to assimilate new information quickly for efficient targeted distribution. Much of my experience has involved poorly defined projects, giving me the project management skills to help you identify the scope of your project and parse it out into smaller tasks. This can make initially vague and overwhelming projects clear and achievable.
